from the Secretary This section provides an
overview of the financial and performance information contained in the
Performance Section, Financial Section, and Appendices. It includes
an overview of the Department’s organization, highlights of the
Department’s most important performance goals and results, current
status of systems and internal control weaknesses, and other pertinent
information, such as the progress being made by the Department in
implementing the President’s Management Agenda (PMA) and the key
management challenges identified by the Office of Inspector General (OIG).
FY 2004 Performance and Financial Highlights The Inspector General's Statement of Management Challenges FY 2004 Performance Section This section provides the
annual performance information. Included in this section is a detailed
discussion and analysis of the Department’s performance in FY
2004. For each service and major office, the results are presented by each
Performance Goal within the four Department
Strategic Goals.
Strategic Goal 1: Provide the information and tools
to maximize U.S. competitiveness and enable economic growth for American industries,
workers, and consumers This section contains the details of the Department’s finances in FY 2004. A letter from the Department's Chief Financial Officer (CFO), is followed by the information on the Department's Financial Management, Debt Management, Payments Management, and audited financial statements, other supplemental financial information, and the Independent Auditor's Report.
