SUBJECT
Revocation of Department Administrative Order (DAO) 201-45, “Departmental Oversight of Major Systems,” dated June 4, 1993.
STATEMENT OF THE ISSUE
On November 2012, the Policy on Commerce Acquisition Project Management was published. It revised the definition of what constitutes a “major system” (now termed “high-profile”) in the Department, vested milestone decision authority for high-profile systems in the Deputy Secretary, and established an acquisition body, the Milestone Review Board, to advise the Deputy Secretary. Since this policy supersedes the DAO, the DAO is no longer needed.
