The Department of Commerce and its component bureaus create the conditions for economic growth and opportunity by promoting innovation, entrepreneurship, competitiveness and stewardship. The Strategic Plan for FY 2007 - FY 2012 focuses on the direction the Department is taking over the coming years to maximize U.S. competitiveness and enable economic growth, foster science and technological leadership, and promote environmental stewardship. This document will be a valuable tool for our ongoing efforts to further these goals, which are critical to the American public we serve.
