Federal Financial Management Improvement Act (FFMIA) of 1996

Under the Federal Financial Management Improvement Act (FFMIA) of 1996, the Department is required to have financial management systems that comply with federal financial management system requirements, federal accounting standards, and the U.S. Government Standard General Ledger (SGL) at the transaction level. In FY 2006, the Department remained in compliance with FFMIA.
