What is my role?

As a government employee, or a contractor, you have a responsibility to ensure the security measures that have been put in place for your protection are followed. Not only are you required to follow the procedures; we need your assistance to ensure that others are following the procedures as well. For example, there are procedures to bring Foreign Nationals into any Department of Commerce facility. The requirement is that the requestor must provide the office of Security with the name, Date of Birth, Place of Birth, which DOC facility they will be visiting, who is the sponsor, when will they arrive and how long will they be staying. This is a simple request, but there are still individuals who have not received the correct procedure. You should be able to pass this information along, or ask the individual to contact the Office of Security for additional information. Ensuring the safety and security of a large number of people takes a team effort. Some of you have been appointed as floor monitors to assist during emergency exercises or in actual emergencies. The entire security staff has responsibilities during exercises and actual emergencies as well. We need your assistance to advise us when there are unsafe or harmful |
