Cultural Awareness and Educational Programs

The Department of Commerce, through the Office of Civil Rights (OCR), conducts annual cultural awareness programs to celebrate the diversity of our employees and this Nation's peoples. Ad hoc employee committees, along with OCR staff develop and present these programs which serve to remind us that the Department has benefited from the work of us all -- regardless of our differences. Programs typically consist of speeches, lectures, films, and other events which add to employees' understanding and appreciation of their own and other cultures.
