There are a number of different sets of policies and guidelines that pertain to travel. The overarching Federal policy for Temporary Duty (TDY) travel is the Federal Travel Regulations (FTR).

Where the FTR allows an Agency flexibility, the Commerce Travel HandBook (CTH) and the Premium Cost Travel Memo further defines DOC’s travel policies. The OAS Travel Management Division is responsible for the CTH. A DOC policy expert can be reached at (202) 482-1818.
