Traveling
Abroad - Passports
Official passports and visas
are required for travel to almost every country. The OAS Travel Management
Division includes the passport officials who will assist you with this
process.
The State Department’s Passport Office requires four weeks to process
an official or diplomatic passport application. If you need to have
the passport application expedited,
a letter
is required explaining in detail the circumstances for the expeditious
handling.
The official or diplomatic
passport is Government Property and not personal property. The passport
is to be used for official business only. A tourist passport must be
used for personal travel. When you are not performing official travel,
the passport will be kept on file in the ADTRAV Travel Office, Room 2069.
