Energy & Water Management Program

The Department’s Energy & Water Management Program helps reduce the cost of government 
by assisting bureaus with reducing energy and water use, managing utility costs, and promoting renewable energy technologies. The program helps the bureaus by ensuring energy compliance with Laws, Executive Orders and regulations; promote good business practices evaluating 
energy conservation opportunities; providing technical guidance; and assisting in project financing. We do this by:

• Providing guidance and planning
• Ensuring compliance with Laws, Executive Orders and regulations
• Promoting good business practices
• Supporting our Bureau’s needs
• Participating in White House and Department of Energy award initiatives
