Mission
The mission of the Personal Property Management/Transportation Division is to maintain accountability of all personal property assets and to provide fleet management services across the Department.
Personal Property
Personal Property Management/Transportation Division (PPM/TD) ensures that the Department of Commerce (DOC) personal property assets serve the missions of our bureaus. PPM/TD provides policy, oversight, and strategic planning to ensure continued compliance with relevant Federal laws and regulations. PPM/TD’s strategic goals encompass a life-cycle approach to asset management: planning, budgeting, acquisition, management in-use, and disposal. Other services that PPM/TD provides include: overseeing the Secretary’s Gift Fund; and overseeing the Herbert C. Hoover Building (HCHB) excess disposition of personal property.
Transportation
PPM/TD manages, provides oversight, and policy development for DOC’s parking and ridesharing programs; as well as manages the executive chauffeur services. Additionally, guidance is provided to Bureau Fleet Managers about the use of a Fleet Management Information System and the misuse of fleet cards.
